Jim's Fishing Schedule
We fish many different streams throughout
the year, depending on the strength of the runs and river conditions.
Where we fish is based upon which rivers are producing at a given
time. All salmon and steelhead are migratory and return to their
streams of origin at different times throughout the year. For
steelhead, which run throughout most of the year, we will most
likely fish the Skykomish, Sauk, Wynoochee, or Stillaquamish.
For salmon, timing is more critical.
For instance, The Skykomish and Hoh have chinook in the summer. The Snohomish, Skykomish, Stillaquamish, and Skagit get pink salmon (humpies) in late August and most of September in odd numbered years. When October and November arrive, most all rivers will have good runs of chinook, coho, or chum salmon. Jim likes to fish the Humptulips, Wynoochee, or Satsop rivers in October and November because they get great runs of all three species at the same time, especially in October! These trips fill up fast so advance reservations is a must. By planning your trip well in advance, you can assure yourself of being in the right place, at the optimum time!

More than just fish
Catching
big fish is only part of the experience of a guided float trip.
The whole range of emotions are experienced during a day on the
river. One minute the adrenaline is surging through your body
as you battle a seriously irritated fish to the side of the boat.
Shortly thereafter you are completely relaxed, marveling at the unmatched views of nature and the surreal silence of your surroundings. Depending on the time of year, you may get to see bald eagles, deer, elk, river otters or many other species which frequent Washington's river banks.
